My mighty 53 Pencil always comes in handy when my mind is busy cooking up some crazy ideas.
The idea started while I was rummaging through my piles of old experimental recipes. Suddenly the word cronut popped up like an ecstatic kid raising his hand for an answer in the mathematical equation 1+1=x.
Cronuts has taken the world by storm. Anything new done right always creates a spark of great interest amongst us foodies and chefs. Call it a fad or otherwise, we do wait for that next defining thing out of the ordinary.
Here goes my invention:
Fry up a chocolate cronut until the skin is crisp and the layers inside puff up to perfection.
Halve it and spread a layer of brown aioli on each side.
Now top one side with baked pancetta and put both halves back together like a sandwich.
Grate some gruyere or ementhal cheese on top and dust with icing sugar. Broil until the sugar is caramelized and the cheese is melting.
Close your eyes and take a bite....this is going to be your first bite....
I will get this started in my mini laboratory soon and will post the results in the Original Recipes section. So keep your eye out for the next invention. It could be the next big thing.
And if you are still curious about the digital sketches I do, I use the mighty fifthythree technology. More information can be found below:
