I did several attempts in the past weeks to bring you innovative ideas.
One of the recipes that didn't quite make it is the savory chocolate cronut. Instead, we explored a purely sweet-tooth's delight by creating the ChocoCron version 6.0 (or call it by other versions if you may). The moniker was born as it coincided with the birth of iPhone 6.0. For sure, my cronuts can bend as they are tender. However, there is a savory cronut version published just today in the name of Cronut-Which.

So what is in store for all of you, my passionate kitchen mortals?
I have lined up a few exciting recipes:
Flavored Brazos (Brazo de Mercedes)
Paying homage to my heritage, I admit about being crazy over the gossamer Brazo de Mercedes. It is simply divine and not much of a guilt-trip until you reach the core of it (imagine almost half a dozen of egg yolks packed in there with full-fat milk).
But the versions I am making will be less calorific - it uses only half the number of egg yolks.
Flavors in mind are green tea, chocolate and strawberry.
I am sure some of my new followers will raise their brows. I am specifically talking to our Brazilian followers out there. One of the captains I flew with explored this Brazilian treat with me on our 14-hour journey and there is a very close semblance with the Filipino Yema.
Not to challenge the Brigadeiro mafias in town, my attempts will be with twists as is the culture at CN.com. Besides, I can call upon the sinful Yema as the main inspiration.
Custard-topped Vanilla Genoise? It is a bit of a marriage between the flan-loving Spaniards and the French patissier. I am imagining fancy colors now reflecting the flavors that be with this custard recipe. But let's call it first as a pistachio custard and branch it out into several dimensions once we have reached the perfect formula.
Keep toes and fingers crossed we deliver great results very soon!
