I have picked chestnut as our base ingredient for this season. It is a very versatile Christmas staple and I enjoy snacking on it warm and freshly prepared. It goes without saying Mont Blanc (aux marrons) holds a special place in my long list of favorite desserts. Mont Blanc owes its name from, well, the famous white mountain in Europe (the highest in the Alps) because of how it is traditionally decorated.
