Classics are classics.
There is always room for old-fashioned treats. And one of my favorite ones is Apple Pie.
However, we gave it a little twist with the addition of Southern Comfort, an American liqueur, which has a silky caramelized sugar taste. Of course, you can always omit it and stick to the traditional style - enjoying nothing but the comforting taste of caramelized Granny Smith apples.
The recipe I am sharing is compiled from two sources:
Allrecipes.com and Foodnetwork.com - two of my favorite sources online - it has always been proven in my kitchen their recipes are fool-proof! And everyone must be agreeing to this as most users leave their reviews, which are very helpful in deciding which recipe will probably work.
The results are phenomenal! Flaky and buttery crust filled with lightly caramelized apples that don't leave you satiated easily. It goes well with a scoop of vanilla or rum and raisin ice cream.
